More Gameplay Footage of Mega Man-esque Azure Striker Gunvolt

June 27, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Inti Create’s 3DS eShop action game is scheduled for a summer release in Japan, elsewhere TBD.

Developer Inti Creates has shared a new gameplay of its upcoming 3DS eShop title Azure Striker Gunvolt. Announced earlier this year, Gunvolt is the newest collaboration between Inti Creates and former Mega Man producer Keiji Inafune's comcept studio, which are also working together on the Kickstarted Mighty No. 9. Like Mighty, Gunvolt takes heavy inspiration from the Mega Man series while also incorporating some unique twists — in this game's case, our hero has wild electricity powers that fill up the entire screen in a dazzling show of strength.

The above trailer shows an early game sequence, helping the player become acclimated to the controls. You'll notice a lot of spoken dialog, which is currently in Japanese. The game is scheduled for a summer release in Japan, with the English release date still under consideration. For the time being, ride the lightning with Azure Striker Gunvolt's footage.
