Kickstarter Project Temporus Mixes Platforming and Space Shooting

July 9, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Only 11 days remain to help this promising adventure meet its base goal.

The Kickstarter projects, especially of the pixel platforming variety, don't stop coming. So why not talk about another one? We're a little late jumping on the train for the sci-fi adventure Temporus, the campaign for which ends on July 20. The goal is to hit $20,000, but with just over six grand in the bank so far, there's still a way to go.

Temporus by Firebelly Studios is a 2D platformer at heart, but it incorporates random level generation, light RPG elements, and even shoot-em-up segments in the vein of R-Type or Gradius. It's scheduled for Windows, Mac, and Linux so far, but it can hit additional platforms if the appropriate stretch goals are met — $30K for PS4, PS Vita, and Xbox One, $35K for Wii U and 3DS.

One thing that makes me happy about the project is that the soundtrack is being composed by Dmitry "C-jeff" Zhemkov. I've enjoyed C-jeff's music since I heard Preschtale, an atmospheric album that sounds like the perfect soundtrack to an unmade sci-fi videogame. You can listen to some of his Temporus samples in the music players below, which includes a couple of tracks from his previous works.

Give your support to Temporus if you want to help the game hit its goal in time.
