Destiny Dev Comments On Xbox One Vs PS4 Exclusive Content & More

June 22, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Community manager David Dague speaks candidly about many things regarding their highly anticipated shooter.

We have new information regarding Destiny via E3 interview, this time with Bungie community manager David Dague. The interview starts off roaring, discussing the issue of content between Xbox One and Playstation 4.

David basically answers any question of Xbox loyalty by pointing out that they are bringing a game to Xbox 360 and Xbox One. He reaffirms Bungie’s pride in their history under Xbox, and he promises that everything available in the game will eventually be available to all players. David also alludes to a timeline when Xbox owners will get the Playstation exclusive content, although of course we don’t have those details yet.

Bungie says they are also trying to be as inclusive as possible, so they are open to bringing the game to PC. David has nothing to share right now.

There are vehicles with weapons in the Crucible, the game’s PVP section. However, David implies they aren’t putting it in the main game because players would never get off of them.

Bungie is still fine  tuning public spaces.  For the moment, the number of cooperative players is seven, but it is likely to be bigger than that. David himself joined Bungie from an online clan, and he promises Bungie will do this community good.

They do have ideas regarding clans made of larger groups of friends. Bungie is currently testing out a structure called alliances, which will have several clans under it.

Regarding the economy, loots are being treated like rewards, which item being attached to a memory (possibly meaning, only available after pulling off something difficult). You will be able to keep this ‘reward’ when you make different characters.

Finally, David promises that Bungie is hard at work ensuring Destiny will be a satisfying experience on its own. Before any talk of DLC, expansions, or sequels, this is their current primary focus.

Destiny is coming September 9 to Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.
