Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare Confirmed For PS3 And PS4 August 19

May 29, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

PS4 owners are getting the sweeter end of the deal among the two.

EA and Popcap have officially confirmed Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare’s release on the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 this August 19.

As Popcap has cited, since the game’s initial release, all they have heard is when the game will be coming to Sony’s platforms. Now, they’ve delivered the game with all the bells and whistles you can hope for, especially on Playstation 4.

For one, the game is coming to Playstation 4 in full 1080p, 60FPS. The Playstation 4 version will also utilize Remote Play, so Vita owners will be able to stream the game as well. Boss Mode will also be playable on an official Playstation App for your tablet and phone. Finally, this version will support split screen co-op.

For better or worse, of course, this announcement makes it clear these features are not coming to the Playstation 3 version, so, for example, PS3 and Vita owners are out the creek without a paddle.

Still, either way everyone gets the full game plus extra. This release will come with the Garden Variety and Zomboss down DLC bundled in. No word if microtransactions are coming to the PSN store, but honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was in the game from the start either. Note: the DLC is absolutely free, no question; the microtransactions are to acquire content you would otherwise earn by playing well in the game and reaching certain goals.

There’s only one more thing about the Playstation ports. EA tweeted some images hinting at crossover content with Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank, and as you can see in our cover image, that's made it to the game, in the form of extra clothes and hats I guess. You can check out the reveal trailer below.
