The upcoming patch 2.3 for Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn, will feature Fate progress on the map.
News of the change was revealed by community rep Camate on the Square Enix forums who said:
"I believe this is a feature that many have been asking about for quite some time now, but in patch 2.3 we will be displaying the progress of Fates on the map!"
Fates, or full time action events, can occur at random while playing and appear as purple icons on the map. The fact that Fate progress will now show up on the map as well should make things easier. One advantage could be knowing when someone is tackling a difficult Fate and you can go to the rescue.
The latest patch for the game, 2.25, addresses numerous issues with the game and you can find details of it here. A Realm Reborn producer and director Naoki Yoshida told the PlayStation Blog earlier this month that update 2.3 information should be revealed soon. He commented:
"We’ll have an update for the PvP content, called 'Wolves’ Den', in late April, and we’ll also start releasing new information about patch 2.3. I’d like you to keep an eye out for the content of the forthcoming update! Also, it’s 2014, so it’s a year for FF14 and we have been planning lots of events as well. Please check The Lodestone for the latest information about the game."
Final Fantasy 14's reboot has been a success for Square Enix so far, helping the publisher return to profit.
