Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 Loses Its Senior Narrative Designer

October 20, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Looks like Cara Ellison has parted ways.

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines released back in 2004 and while the reception was mainly positive the game didn’t hit massive numbers. Instead, the video game slowly grew a rather cult following. After a while, there were plenty of fans seeking a sequel and it didn’t look like we were ever going to receive one. That changed as we’re set to receive a new installment after Paradox Interactive received the IP rights back in 2015. With this particular installment, players are going to receive a direct sequel set in the city of Seattle. It’s with this city that we learned that there are a variety of factions all gearing to take control and that’s where you come into play.

Within the game, players take on the role of a fledgling thinblood vampire and you may be the sole reason behind the new discord between all of the various vampire groups. As you make your way through this campaign, players can adjust and upgrade a variety of attributes to their protagonists. As a result, the gameplay can shift towards a playstyle that caters to the player.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t long ago that we got the word of two creative leads that were unexpectedly fired from the project. The two individuals, Ka’ai Cluney and Brian Mitsoda had been working on the game for a good while before they were suddenly booted off. In fact, we’re still wondering just why the studio heads decided to take the two off the project completely. At any rate, it looks like they will be joined by another member who has decided to leave the project which is Cara Ellison.

Meet Cara (@caraellison), our wonderful senior narrative designer! 🎉🌈

She 😍's cooking, cute hamsters, post-punk/new wave, & all of the beautiful Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

According to a report made on PC Gamer, it seems that Cara Ellison, who was the senior narrative designer for Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2, is no longer at the development studio. Instead, a Tweet from League of Geeks has confirmed that Cara Ellison is working as their newest senior narrative designer. Rumors and speculation going online right now suggest that Cara left after her job was completed for Hardsuit Labs but for now it looks like the game is still going through production. Currently, the upcoming video game is not slated to launch until sometime in 2021 for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
