Select PlayStation 5 Games Will Have $69.99 Price Tag

There’s a ton of anticipation right now for the video game industry. We knew that going into 2020 that both Sony and Microsoft had plans to bring out their next-generation video game console platforms. Of course, some things got turned upside after the coronavirus health pandemic outbreak which resulted in events shutting down. To get around this both companies decided to advertise and market their latest announcements online through the likes of streams. It’s a big trend right now with streaming content for news rather than big in-person media events.

Just yesterday, Sony held their latest stream event which showcased some new video game titles along with updates for the PlayStation 5. This also came with the release and price point of the PlayStation 5. In case you missed it, the PlayStation 5 will be launching on November 12, 2020, in select markets, while the console will run players $499 or $399 if you opt for the cheaper all-digital version of the PlayStation 5. At any rate, the PS5 will certainly cost players a pretty penny and to top it off, the video games releasing will be a bit more expensive as well.

The announcement of video games going up in price is nothing new. We’ve been hearing news regarding this for the last few months. There’s a big push for newer next-generation video game titles coming in at $69.99 rather than the standard $59.99 we’ve been seeing for the past couple console generations. This is all due to the amount of money that goes into creating these big video game titles and while we’re not sure just which game will come out for $69.99, Sony did alert fans on their official PlayStation blog, which of their own SIE Worldwide Studios games will come in at a higher price point.
