The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe Delayed To 2021

August 19, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Another game gets pushed into next year.

2020 started off as an exciting year for the video game industry. Going into the new year we had expectations for the next-generation platform consoles. Both Sony and Microsoft were slated to bring out their next-generation video game consoles which are the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X. However, the excitement died down a bit thanks to the worldwide health pandemic outbreak that we are still very much dealing with today. Now we’re seeing games get delayed due to needing more time for polishing as we head into the second half of 2020.

With so many development studios having to work remotely in order to further social distance and avoid spreading the coronavirus, we’re seeing these studios requiring more time to develop their video game titles. It’s expected as the crew is all split up and working from home provides its own challenges on not only the studio but the individual employees as well. Still, it seems that we are going to see more games come out likely for 2020 wraps to announce a pushback for 2021.

This has been a trend lately with Microsoft’s 343 Industries announcing their delay of Halo Infinite. A game that likely would have moved consoles when the Xbox Series X released, needs more time to develop. Earlier this week we got the announcement of Deathloop, from Arkane Lyon, also need more time to development which has pushed the game into 2021. Now The Stanely Parable Ultra Deluxe is being pushed into 2021 as well.

The Stanley Parable was a hit indie game that follows a narrative that told a humorous story. Each action that the player takes alters the story and it made for some really interesting endings and in-game moments. This upcoming version was made for consoles and it looks like again with the coronavirus still in full swing, the development studio needs more time to bring it out publicly.
