Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn is now available as a Steamworks game. To celebrate the occasion, the game is now half off for a limited period.
Between now and February 25, you can get the Standard Edition for $ 14.99, down from $ 29.99, and the Collector’s Edition for $ 24.99, down from $ 49.99. Again, because this is a Steamworks game, you get the game for both PC and Mac.
Final Fantasy 14’s saga of failure and success stands as testament to how a company who stands behind their vision can make a game of this ambition come together. We won’t go through the entire saga here, but as you know, the game’s initial failure was bad enough to force a reshuffle of the company, even the firing of their then-CEO Yoichi Wada.
A Realm Reborn also went through its sore spots at launch, but Square shamed all the doubters by getting it all together. As of this month, the game’s 1.8 million players have created 6.7 million characters and logged over 400 million hours of play time.
The game is coming to Playstation 4 very soon, but here and now, Steam users can brag of true cross platform play and a huge discount.
