Nintendo Switch May Be Out of Stock At Retailers But Nintendo Still Offers Refurbished Units

July 1, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Don’t feel like the Nintendo Switch is completely unattainable.

2020 has been quite a unique year. There have been several incidents that could stand out but we’re pretty sure everyone who lived through 2020 will always remember the coronavirus health outbreak pandemic. This pandemic was such a massive problem that it swept the world by storm with so many great minds working together to find a vaccine. Still, those that are not infected are staying indoors, refraining from social gatherings, and of course, wearing masks outside. It’s a massive change up to how life was just a year ago, but while we are dealing with this outbreak pandemic, the need for entertainment is at an all-time high.

So many of us are stuck at home and waiting to get a chance to either go back to work or gathering in a public without the fear of catching the virus. As a result, video game consoles have been something most have found an interest in. Nintendo’s latest video game console hybrid, the Nintendo Switch, has left so many seeking a unit out with out much luck in finding a retailer with the console in stock. Because of this coronavirus hit worldwide, there were plenty of manufacturers that stopped production for different products including the Nintendo Switch. This meant that units were going out into the market at a much slower pace.

The fact that the Nintendo Switch became limited and that the units were quickly being purchased by resellers to flip for a higher price, those that wanted a unit was forced into paying a premium or waiting for a unit to come at their local retailer. The slow wait for the Nintendo Switch may soon come to an end as Nintendo recently stated that the production should start to normalize during this summer season.

That statement was followed up by the fact that Nintendo could see a problem once again with shipment and units if a second and third wave hits with the coronavirus. We’re of course hoping that this second wave doesn’t happen but as we approach the fall season where we typically see an influx of virus cases for the flu, it could very well become a real threat leaving more lockdowns and quarantines. Still, if you need a console unit to entertain yourself then there is another option outside of waiting on a unit reaching your local retailer or paying a reseller price.

Nintendo is offering refurbished units for sale online which comes with the console and joy-cons along with the other stock items you would find normally in a new unit. While the console is used, its been professionally refurbished by Nintendo meaning that it’s a safe bet that this unit will work without problems or any major cosmetic issues. Likewise, you can save some money going this route.
