Evolve has a new trailer titled Happy Hunting which you can see below while a host of new details about the game have been revealed through press previews.
The game which sees humans take on monsters, has different class types for human characters while monsters will need to avoid combat until you've taken down enough local wildlife to evolve to stage two.
2K executive producer Denby Grace told VG27/7 that developer Turtle Rock “felt like they only scratched the surface with Left 4 Dead and while they proved some things about co-op play they really wanted to push it to that next level here,”
“By giving people a really defined role – and rewarding you for being good at your role – it means that when you win as a team you really feel like it’s because everyone played their part. Ultimately, everyone has to have a good game as their chosen role because otherwise you’re going to get tanked pretty quickly.”
Turtle Rock's game seems to be a much more in-depth proposition than the studio's Left 4 Dead titles but Grace says, “The game balancing is a difficult challenge but it’s something that the guys and us work very hard at.”
Matt O'Driscoll, Turtle Rock's executive producer, told VideoGamer that the project is something they've been thinking about for a very long time, "[Evolve has] been in Turtle Rock's minds [since] before Left 4 Dead. It's kind of been there and simmering for a long time. Turtle Rock had made Left 4 Dead, and proved its credentials, in the co-op side of things."
The developer has previously the game wouldn't work with more than four players and you'll be able to decide for yourself whether that's the case when Evolve is released for PC, PS4,and Xbox One. Also included below is an 11 minute PlayStation Access video interview with the developers.
