In case you haven’t noticed, today is Pokemon Day. It’s a day set aside each year to celebrate the Pokemon franchise after it first got its start on this day back in 1996. As a result, it’s a fitting day to not only showcase your love of the franchise online but also to unveil a brand new Pokemon. That’s exactly what Game Freak did today by providing a new trailer introducing fans with Zarude.
A new mythical Pokemon is coming to Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. The Pokemon received a short trailer on the official Pokemon channel where we got a brief explanation of the character. Zarude is a dark and grass type Pokemon that resembles a monkey. According to the official description of the video upload, it looks like Zarude is known for swinging around tree branches and using its sharp claws to deliver several devastating attacks.
“When fighting, it swings around using trees and their branches, attacking relentlessly with its sharp claws or any other means it has. Its quick wit helps it excel in battles.”
Zarude also looks like a fitting dark type Pokemon as well with it being rather large, dark coloring and red eyes. With an ability of Leaf Guard, we got a look at just a snippet of footage showing the Pokemon fighting off opponents. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there is any news regarding when the Zarude will be added into the game, but more information is supposedly coming soon.
