Indie Legends Struggle to Survive in Owlchemy’s Dyscourse

November 18, 2013 by Stephen Daly

The developers of Journey, Super Meat Boy, Octodad and more set to appear.

Dyscourse, a psychological adventure game from the makers Snuggle Truck and Jack Lumber, will launch with a bonus 'Indie Plane Crash' scenario which features some of the key developers from the indie game scene.

According to Owlchemy's press release:

"The game, which tasks players to survive on a mysterious island in the aftermath of a freak plane crash, will now also explore the resulting antics of a group of highly regarded game industry professionals who are 'technically talented, but utterly useless in survival situations'."

10 developers are lined up to make an appearance in Indie Plane Crash and they are; Tim Schafer (Pyschonauts), Edmund McMillen (Super Meat Boy), Phil Tibitoski (Octodad), Alexander Bruce (Antichamber), Ron Carmer (World of Goo), Robin Hunicke (Journey), Ichiro Lambe (Aaaaa!), Adam Saltsman (Canabalt), Will Stallwood (Auditorium), and finally Rami Ismail (Ridiculous Fishing).

Alex Schwartz of Owlchemy commented:

"They can code, but can they catch cod? This additional scenario will explore what happens when these stars of the indie scene have to sleep under the big sky, fighting the elements and potentially each other to survive until rescue."

The game is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter with 18 days remaining to back the project which needs another $27,000 to meet its $40,000 goal.

Dyscourse is currently planned for a 2014 release on PC, Mac, and Linux.
