Rocksteady's Arkham titles are particularly challenging games, and the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is set to offer an experience no less challenging than its predecessors—and perhaps even more so with the inclusion of a new difficulty setting called "I Am the Night". The new mode includes permadeath and unlocks when players complete the main game and New Game Plus.
According to game producer Guillaume Voghel, who spoke to Eurogamer, the Origins' main narrative arc and side missions last "about 12 hours."
"To get 100 percent of that will take much, much longer. We have a new difficulty level, New Game Plus is coming pack — that's really difficult — and when you're done with that there's I Am The Night mode — which is no saves and one life."
The game is set for an Oct. 25 release date across the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and Windows PC, and is slated to also see the release of a DLC season pass which includes five different packs of downloadable content.
