E3 is one of the biggest video game expos of the year and it’s a great center stage to get the attention of gamers in order to present new video game titles along with hardware. While this year will be a bit different thanks to Sony and EA not attending with a briefing, there are still plenty of conferences scheduled up to keep gamers interested and tuning in over the span of a few days. While this year will likely have a bunch of brand new IPs and new installments to beloved franchises, there are a number of video game titles previously revealed that’s been confirmed to be at E3 in some capacity. These video game titles may have a showing during a conference or simply on the show floor for gamers to get hands-on experience.
At any rate, these video game titles are confirmed for E3 2019 and we can’t wait to get new information or gameplay footage. With that said, we’re still a few weeks away from E3 2019 so there’s plenty of time for games to get some type of confirmation prior to the event. While these are not all of the video games confirmed, here are a few titles that our crew is keeping tabs on.
Cyberpunk 2077
Come on who here isn’t ready for more information about Cyberpunk 2077. It’s one of the most anticipated video game titles these past few years and while that can easily be a dangerous attribute to a video game, we all remember No Man’s Sky first launch, this upcoming title is in good hands. CD Projekt Red has proven themselves to be a capable development studio who brought out an incredible RPG series, The Witcher and now we’re getting their next big IP. We got our first big reveal of Cyberpunk 2077 last year with the initial trailer and later on a nearly hour-long gameplay footage. While it’s been stated that media relations are going to get a sneak peek at Cyberpunk 2077 behind closed doors, the video game will be present in some capacity to the general public during the expo.
Now we’re obviously hoping for a lot here but even if we just get some new footage then we’ll be pleased. Of course, we also wouldn’t mind a launch window as it’s already been stated to be a current generation video game title, but with next-generation consoles coming out soon, a launch for Cyberpunk 2077 can’t be too far off.
Halo Infinite
Halo Infinite is another obvious title we imagine most are expecting plenty of information on this coming expo. We only got a small glimpse of the video game during last year’s expo just to confirm that Halo Infinite is the title but we know that this title will follow the events of Halo 5: Guardians. Another aspect that we know is that this game will be a spiritual reboot to the franchise and possibly a means for a jumping point for newcomers to the series. 343 Industries has plenty riding on their shoulders as well since Halo 5: Guardians wasn’t the most well-received installment to the franchise so we’re definitely interested in seeing just what we’ll get from the video game during this year’s Microsoft press conference briefing.
Doom Eternal
The 2016 release of Doom was met with plenty of praise and gave the franchise a resurgence of epic portions. It’s not surprising to see id Software go back to the franchise shortly after the first reboot release in order to deliver fans a new installment. We know that the game is called Doom Eternal and that our protagonist Doom Guy will have to venture down to Earth after hell invasion floods throughout the land. Now humanities last hope resides on the player slaughtering the demons that begin to rule mankind. Doom Eternal will have a few new mechanics from weapons to the even the demons showing battle damage during fights. Another component added to the game will be an Invasion mode in which players can jump into a random game being played and take the role of a demon.
Dying Light 2
Dying Light released as a zombie apocalypse video game but with the big focus on parkour mechanics. Players were leaping and dashing through the environments to traverse the world all while defeating the undead hordes that showed up along the way. Dying Light 2 seems to be tweaking the mechanics and offering a new experience. We’re waiting to hear more about the story of this game but we do know that there is a bigger focus on choices being presented to players. Each choice will have consequences and it may likely hold multiple endings. Last year we got a small glimpse into Dying Light 2 but we’re still without a release date attached to the project so perhaps we’ll finally get some more of the fine details and hopefully a launch window for the game.
Borderlands 3
Borderlands is back and its actually receiving a third main installment to the franchise. Fans once again become a vault hunter who must stop the Calypso twins from their evil plots and finding vaults past the Pandora. So far, this game looks to have the same mechanics and style that we’re familiar with along with a focus on cooperative gameplay but again, we only got a small taste of this game earlier in the year. E3 can be a great platform for the real unveiling of what this game has in store for potential players or if this could be a great jumping point for gamers who may not have experienced the past Borderlands games. After all, the first Borderlands released ten years ago so there is a good chance newcomers would be interested in the series. For now, we know that Borderlands 3 will be launching on September 13, 2019, for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty is a yearly video game franchise and this year we’re hearing a ton of rumors and supposed leaks as to what Infinity Ward has in the works. We do know that Call of Duty 2019 will actually be a soft reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series. Apparently, the development team is looking to give players a series of strong and emotional moments throughout the narrative similar to how No Russian provided, a mission from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. That particular mission was highly controversial as well because it provided gamers the ability to gun down innocent bystanders in an airport but that is a mission being tossed around online as an emotional pulling inspiration for what the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare campaign will contain.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
EA hasn’t had the best track record for Star Wars video game titles since they gained the license to do so. However, there is definitely one video game title that gamers are interested in and that’s from development team Respawn Entertainment. This is the same team that has brought out Titanfall and Apex Legends. However, unlike some of those past titles, gamers are going to get an in-depth narrative journey set in the Star Wars universe. We haven’t received too many details about the game though just a few months ago the first real trailer for the title launched. So far we know that gamers are taking the role of a Padawan who survived the Jedi executions during Star Wars Episode 3. While the game trailer so far looks interesting, we’re really eager in seeing just what is going to be shown off during E3. Perhaps we’ll get some actual gameplay footage since the title is slated to launch for current generation platforms this November.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint
A new Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon title is in the works over at Ubisoft. The video game is set to be a sequel to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands where players are traversing an open island known as Aurora as you investigate a wealthy entrepreneur who may be supplying a corrupt regime. It’s during this investigation that we discover a former Ghost member that has since gone rogue. For now, not too many details have been released into the public but we’re sure that this will be one of the major video game titles Ubisoft is going to showcase during their E3 2019 press conference.
Planet Zoo
Development studio Frontier Developments has been around for quite some time but you may know them best now with the release of Planet Coaster and Jurassic World Evolution. Looking back to Planet Coaster, the development team opted to bring out a spiritual successor to the RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise and they most definitely succeeded. Now the studio is coming back with another spiritual successor with Planet Zoo, a game that will act much like Zoo Tycoon with players being able to create and manage their very own zoo. So far the game only has an expected launch window of 2019 so outside of possibly having some footage to go with the game, we hope that during E3 we’ll also get an actual release date.
Super Mario Maker 2
The sequel to the much beloved and popular title, Super Mario Maker, is coming out later this year. We know quite a bit about the game as it will follow the same style of mechanics that were present in the first title. Players will gain access to an assortment of tools to craft their own unique Super Mario Level for other players to try. Also, we know that the sequel will once again bring in the same items and visual options as the first title along with additional assets based on Super Mario 3D World. Likewise, the game will include a new single-player campaign for players to go through. In the campaign, players must go through a series of Nintendo built courses in order to help rebuild Princess Peach’s Castle. While it seems that we have pretty much all the details about the game prior to launch, Nintendo may have a surprise announcement regarding the game during their Nintendo E3 Direct.
Gears 5
Gears of War 4 launched back in 2016 and now a few years later we’re getting a follow-up title. Known simply as Gears 5, the video game will follow Kait Diaz who seems to be attached to the Locust. In this journey, Kait is looking to uncover the origins between the Locust and her family. This was a game that was brought out to attention during E3 2018 along with Gears Tactics and Gears POP! While we don’t know about the latter titles, Gears 5 is a big Microsoft exclusive so we’re expecting a good highlight portion being offered for the title.
