Developer Panache took to the PlayStation Blog to give an update to their fans about their upcoming prehistoric survival game, Ancestors: Humankind Odyssey.
The game has been in development for about four years now, and with little to no new information released about the game, many fans have been wondering what happened. However, developer Panache is still here and has given a slew of good news about the game.
First is that the game is set to release later this year, 2019. There is no official release date, but it will be releasing sometime this year so that is good news. Second, they released a new trailer that sort of acted liked a developer diary where we get an inside look at the game and some developer commentary about Ancestors.

Developer Panache gives players a little look at the game thanks to the new trailer, above, but they also detailed what the game is all about as well. It has been a long time since the reveal announcement of the game, so down below is a little refresher about Ancestors: Humankind Odyssey
Starting 10 million years ago and spanning over 8 million years, Ancestors will have you explore the beautiful, yet unforgiving world of Neogene Africa. You’ll need to expand your territory and grow your clan as you evolve through the ages, gaining new abilities and passing them on to the next generations.
These videos are here to scratch the surface of the main pillars of the game without spoiling anything for you. I truly believe that discovering something for the first time is part of what makes this game unique and exciting. That’s why we say “Good luck, we won’t help you much!”
Ancestors: Humankind Odyssey is still without a release date, however, the developers ensure that the game is set to release sometime this year — 2019. Are you excited to finally get your hands on the game? Let us know what you think about the game so far in the comments below!
