When it comes to 2019, there were and are some massively anticipated video game titles. For Square Enix, one of the video games that were easily eager for fans to pick up was the third main installment to Kingdom Hearts. The video game was finally released into the market for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this past month. Ultimately, we imagine that there are plenty of gamers out there who have already completed the game or are at least closing in on the end. However, don’t think that this is a game you’re going to shelve until that sudden urge to replay it. DLC is inbound and its coming both as free content updates along with paid expansions.
This news came from Dengeki Online which was translated and posted on Gematsu. The publication spoke with Tetsuya Nomura, the game director who stated that there is DLC coming soon for the game. This will be both free and paid DLC. For the free DLC, it looks like one element will be a new harder game mode known as Critical Mode. This will offer a greater challenge to those who wish to replay the game, but that seems to be just one element and more free content could come with it.
Likewise, it looks like the game director is lining up a bigger story expansion for the game. We know that the story will revolve around Xion and will help flesh out the ending of Kingdom Hearts 3. Unfortunately, we don’t know just when the DLC will be launching, how much it will cost players or for the matter, just how long of expansion it will be. There’s certainly a lot of unknowns right now for the game expansion, but we’re sure there is plenty of gamers who wouldn’t mind seeing this as being one of several expansions released for a game that took years to create.
