There are a number of great video game titles released this year and even more anticipated titles slated to launch before the end of the year. One of those highly anticipated video game titles releasing later this month is Red Dead Redemption 2 which will take place prior to the events of the original Red Dead Redemption video game installment. With that said, you will see a few familiar faces from the first installment in this upcoming prequel.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will follow Arthur Morgan who is a member of the Van der Linde Gang. After a robbery turns bad, Arthur and his gang are forced to flee across the country to escape the law. As a result, players will likely see a pretty wide game world filled with new unique characters and quests. Since its announcement, Rockstar Games have been tight-lipped on what gamers can expect with only small trailers and teasers giving brief information regarding the game narrative, mechanics and world.
One of the big reveals at the start is the return of John Marston, the leading and much-beloved protagonist in Red Dead Redemption. John Marston will likely show up throughout the game since he is a member of the Van der Linde Gang, however, until now, we’ve been wondering if the original voice actor would reprise his role. Rob Wiethoff is the man who gave John Marston a voice and while he has other roles both in video game format and films, Rob has been pretty inactive as an actor. According to IMDB, his last work was in 2013 as a voice actor for the character Lazarus In the video game Codename Cygnus.
Yep! And he’s voiced by the same actor 🙂

However, it looks like the actor is making a return by taking up the role of John Marston in Red Dead Redemption 2 according to a tweet made by Jake Dekker, a producer for GameSpot who had played a copy of the game.
