The ancient city of Atlantis totally exists in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, and finding it leads to some truly awesome encounters with living, breathing mythological monsters. The path to Atlantis is a long one, and finding it leads directly into a series of quests pitting you against creatures like the Minotaur, the Cyclopes, and more. Defeating all of these creatures even leads to a final secret ending that connects your story with the first civilization lore.
I’m getting way ahead of myself. Atlantis isn’t just a mythological city that sank beneath the ways. It’s a real place, and making it there is pretty straightforward. You’ll find the Atlantis quest as an automatic unlock after completing Sequence 7 — once you arrive in Atlantis, you’ll begin a series of quests that leads directly to the optional, hidden ending. There’s a lot of cool stuff to see and some seriously hard end-game bosses to battle. Let’s get into the gritty details.

How To Find Atlantis & Battle Mythological Bosses | Secret Ending Guide
After completing the Sequence 7 quest “United Front“, you’ll unlock the Atlantis quest automatically. The side-quest, called “A Family’s Legacy” can’t be missed — follow it to reach an island, scan to collect the artifact tablet, and eventually you’ll be pointed to a massive gate. Through the gate, you’ll reach Atlantis.
Pythagoras gives you quests here — you’ll be directed to battle four mythological creatures. The Cyclops, the Minotaur, the Sphynx, and the Medusa — three of these creatures are difficult boss battles. The Sphynx can only be defeated by solving its three randomly-generated riddles. The Medusa is Level 50, so it might take some grinding to defeat it. Defeat all three to collect their artifacts. Find how to solve the Sphynx riddles in the quick puzzle solution guide linked above.
Once all four mythological creatures are defeated, return to Atlantis to witness the true ending. This ending reveals more about the “First Civilization” shown in many of the different Assassin’s Creed games, linking the story more closely with the central lore of the series. It’s also just really, really cool — so this is all stuff you don’t want to miss.
