One of the biggest game modes to really hit the video game scene lately is Battle Royale. This mode tosses players into a map where they must battle against each other in hopes to be the last man standing. The result of its popularity from such video games as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite has led other development teams to incorporate the game mode in their own video game title releases.
It didn’t come to much of a shock when we found that EA DICE was releasing a Battlefield V with an intended Battle Royale mode, but several questions were left unanswered in regards to what we can expect from the beloved franchise. Outside of a Battle Royale mode being revealed to gamers worldwide at E3 2018, we are only now just getting a few fine details.
The mode in Battlefield V will be known as Firestorm and it will include the largest map featured in any Battlefield video game to date. A new trailer that released also gave some additional details such as the game mode will feature a total of sixty-four players that will be split up into teams of four, totaling sixteen teams.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any word yet on if this will be the only game mode featured as this would eliminate a solo option for players who wish to seek out being the last man standing. Regardless, this game mode will not be available until post-launch of Battlefield V which means that EA DICE may still have some reveals in the works at a later date.
As it stands right now, Battlefield V is slated to release on November 20, 2018, for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms.
