Splinter Cell Blacklist biggest game in the series thus far

July 12, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Ubi’s Maxime Béland talks about numerous modes, hints at more Spies Vs Mercs reveals.

Ubisoft Creative Director Maxime Béland revealed to GamingBolt that Splinter Cell Blacklist is the biggest Splinter Cell series made so far. He's confident that consumers will find huge value for money.

To round up what we know so far, the game's single player, revolving around Sam Fisher and the Fourth Echelon facing down a terrorist cell called The Engineers, will have thirteen chapters. The cooperative multiplayer Echelon mode, in turn, will have fourteen Missions. Finally, there is their highly touted Spies Vs Mercs multiplayer competitive mode. Ubisoft still has more to reveal full details for Spies Vs Mercs, but they are promising fans will be satisfied with its breadth in terms of modes, options and gameplay styles available.

Previously revealed information on Spies Vs Mercs revealed differentiation between the two groups, affecting gameplay, abilities, weaponry, and even perspective. We also covered Spies Vs Mercs' Classic Mode, which offers simple 2 vs 2 gameplay, and hinted at 4 vs 4 player Blacklist mode.

Ubisoft Shanghai has also promised additional gameplay features just for the Wii U version. That version of the game will make use of the GamePad to make use of several in-game gadgets. They will also make use of the controller's touchscreen and motion based abilities.

Although Splinter Cell isn't getting as much attention as their next-gen games, Ubisoft seems to have planned a spectacular farewell for Splinter Cell on 7th generation hardware.
