The latest upcoming installment to the Fallout franchise will definitely be different than the other releases we have seen in the past. For instance, the game will not contain an actual story campaign but instead will connect gamers online to explore the wasteland together. However, the overall goal of this game is building up a new colony.
Players take the role of a survivor in Vault 76 which opens up just under thirty years after the nuclear war. Your goal is to venture out into the wasteland and rebuild the colony, one settlement at a time. In a lot of ways, this game will be similar to Fallout 4 where players can craft up their base and fight off any hostilities that arrive. With that said we know that this game will be four times larger than Fallout 4 which means you’ll be able to explore quite a bit of the wasteland.
There are no NPCs to interact with as every person within the game is another player enjoying Fallout 76. This could also mean rivalries, wars, and even potential factions. A new trailer was released today which goes over Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform, or otherwise known as C.A.M.P.
Essentially, this is a workshop that can allow players to move their base and craft items. You’ll be able to slowly build up your base after you gather resources from the wasteland. Likewise, if you happen to find yourself needing a particular item or resource then you can freely trade with other players.
We haven’t seen any gameplay footage or information as to how trading will work exactly but luckily the beta is coming up soon which players can start their journey and learn the ins and outs of the game.
Fallout 76 will be releasing on November 24, 2018, for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
