Markus 'Notch' Persson last night revealed on Twitter that the PC version of Minecraft has now sold 11 million copies.
Minecraft has now sold 11 million copies on PC/Mac/Linux! That's more than the number of atoms in the observable universe!

He also said that the game's massive success has let to several interested parties in developer Mojang.
"I frequently receive emails from people who want to 'help monetize minecraft.net'. My reply is usually 'No', sometimes 'Go away'," he wrote. "Latest hopeful partner was on average offering us 20k upfront to bundle it with the Minecraft launcher. No. Not as long as I work here," Notch added.
Only last month the iOS and Android based Pocket Edition of Minecraft reached the 10 million sales milestone. Minecraft is also the most popular title in the history of Xbox Live Arcade selling six million copies by March and at Microsoft's pre-E3 media briefing 4J Studios announced it was developing Minecraft: Xbox One edition.
Sales of the game could expand even further when Mojang's console exclusivity agreement with Microsoft expires. Mojang have said that there is a possibility the game will come to PlayStation once the deal ends.
