Announced in 2016, Nexon and EA was supposed to release a free version of their Mech-blasting extravaganza Titanfall for the Asian region, unfortunately, the game has been cancelled due to poor product development.
“It is true that Nexon and EA have agreed to cancel Titanfall Online under a business decision,” a Nexon rep told Game Focus (via tipster Sang). “After much deliberation, it was decided that reallocating development resources to another project was better for the company.”
Nexon is a massive entertainment company situated in South Korea. The giant owns titles such as Counter-Strike Online, Maplestory 2 and unfortunately, the recently cancelled LawBreakers.
If you were afraid that we wouldn’t be getting any Titanfall action since this dishearting news, not to worry as the franchise is still alive and well. Respawn Entertainment was acquired by Electronic Arts in November 2017 and CEO Vance Zampella stated, “It doesn’t change the future of Titanfall. Only positives come from it, like more resources.”
