On Nintendo's official website it has been announced that the next Nintendo Direct broadcast has been set for this Wednesday, April 17th, and will focus on the 3DS,
Occuring at 07:00 PT and 10:00 ET (15:00 BST) Nintendo simply says "Join us this Wednesday for a Nintendo Direct episode featuring the Nintendo 3DS."
While no details of this Nintendo Direct have been revealed there are a number of high profile games coming to the system this year including Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, Mario & Luigi Dream Team and Mario Golf: World Tour. There'll likely be some unexpected game announcements made at the event as well.
Undoubtedly Wii U owners are disappointed that this episode won't feature their console which has relatively few titles and has suffered at retail as a result.
Analyst Michael Pachter has said he does not believe a price cut will stimulate interest in the console due to the dearth of games for Wii U, he previously commented that Nintendo "misfired" with the system. While last month GameStop's president said sales have been "slower than expected" so far this year.
