March 4, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

Firaxis’s masterpiece is headed to the OSX.

Feral Interactive has announced its plans to port Firaxis' turn-based strategy title XCOM: Enemy Unknown to the Mac, where the game will be available in what they're referring to as the "elite edition."

The so-called "elite edition" of XCOM will contain all previously released downloadable content for the title, including the Slingshot pack, Elite Soldier pack, and the free Second Wave update from the very get go.

The game is currently available for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The studio has not announced when it plans to release the game on the Mac, but we're assured they'll make the announcement sometime soon.

Likewise, it's unknown at this point whether players who purchased the original game for the PC on Steam will have free access to the Mac version over the service.
