Check Out This Deleted Scene From Wreck-It Ralph

February 13, 2013 by Matt Hawkins

Too bad the cheat code joke didn’t make the final cut.

The home video editions of Disney's Wreck-It Ralph are due to hit various storefronts, both digital and physical, in the coming weeks. And for the DVD and Blu-ray editions at least will contain the usual set of extras that one has come to expect with such things. Including deleted scenes, like the following, which IGN recent got access to:

It's not exactly clear where or when the following is supposed to take place. Given its unfinished state, one can safely assume that it was well before the script was finalized. Though given how most movies go through constant, almost endless revisions, it's hard to pin down if it's from very early on, or maybe at the mid-point, where serious editing was being made.

Though, the final DVD and Blu-ray should hopefully shed light and add some context:

Still, deleted scenes are always fun to watch. They sometimes shows a different aspect of the characters involved, or the tone of the movie as a whole. In this case, it's bit heavyon the "bro" side of things, which is contrary to the finished product, and may party explain why it was cut.

Though deleted scenes also show parts that could have easily fit in the final movie. Like the cheat code gag; one has to wonder if it survived in some other form, in some other scene that was also removed in the final edit, for whatever reason.

And deleted/behind the scenes of CGI movies are especially enthralling, especially to animation nerds, since it shows the actual drawings that took place that would be the skeleton of computer generated imagery.

The DVD, Blu-ray, and digital editions will be available on March 5th. In the meanwhile, why not give Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed a spin? Since it guest stars Wreck-It-Ralph after all.
