GRID 2 Release Date Announced, Screenshots Surface

New screenshots of GRID 2 showcase some pretty sweet racing.

Codemasters has announced that GRID 2 will be released on the May 28, 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. 

In addition to the release date announcement, Codemasters has revealed a range of pre-order Special Editions for GRID 2 containing extra content, redeemable through PlayStation 3, Xbox Live, and the PC. 

Anyone who pre-orders the game on GameStop can pick up the Turbo-Charged Edition, which includes the following racing packs:

McLaren Racing Pack: Receive the exclusive McLaren MP4-12C GT3 Special Edition car to race in single-player, multiplayer and a special online event; plus expand the game with two new routes around the Brands Hatch GP circuit.

GTR Racing Pack: Receive the exclusive Nissan GT-R SpecV road car to race in single-player, multiplayer and an exclusive online event; plus experience all five routes around the Yas Marina circuit by day.

Pre-orders at Best buy will get the IndyCar Edition.

IndyCar Pack: Receive the exclusive Dallara IndyCar and the IndyCar Pace car to race in single-player, multiplayer and an exclusive online event; plus expand the game with two new routes around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Oval Circuit.

And finally, Amazon buyers can choose the Head Start Editio, which comes with discounts in the Car Upgrades Store.

Head Start Pack: Receive the exclusive Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 GT car to race in single-player, multiplayer and enjoy discounts in the Car Upgrades Store in online game modes and a unique RaceNet bonus.

Like its predecessor, GRID 2 is all about track, circuit, and street racing and contains a wide selection of automotive vehicles spanning across four decades. 

In addition to a wide range of single-player races, GRID 2 includes a full multiplayer experience with a progression system that allows players to customize their vehicles and challenge friends on RaceNet, a system which also tracks the player's races, rewards, and rivals.
