As well as the three expansion packs and one stuff pack for The Sims 3 that EA recently announced, we've also got another stuff pack due very soon: The Sims 3 '70s, '80s, and '90s Stuff, which will launch in North America on the 22nd of January and in Europe on the 24th. The team has taken to the Sims 3 Community Blog to give some more details on what the '80s part of the pack will entail.
Music plays a big role, naturally. So one of the new items included in the pack is the “Boomin'Box”, an oversized boom box stereo (no word yet on whether Sims can balance it on their shoulder and walk down the street with it). In the background of the picture of the '80s Sim rocking out to his boom box there's also an arcade machine, which should make gamers happy. It looks like a racing game, though it's hard to tell if it's based on a real arcade game or not.
The clothes are also very iconic. I have no idea whether the outfits the team has created for the stuff pack are truly representative of the clothes some of you might have actually worn in the '80s, because I was born in 1990, but if they are, what were you thinking?! Then again, I saw a girl the other day wearing a see-through top and translucent leggings, so scratch that.
Were any of you around in the '80s? Was it a good time for you? Would you be happy to relive the trends of the era in Sim form?
