Many gamers under the age of 35 might not know who Marc Blank and Dave Lebling are. And to be honest, those who are older are probably not all that familiar with the names either. Yet they no doubt have strong feelings about their handiwork.
The duo created Zork, one of the most important video games of all time. As well as the best, according to some circles. And they're finally getting some much-deserved recognition.
According to Wired, the pair will be honored with the "Pioneer Award" by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, as part of the DICE Summit in February.
The pair, who also founded Infocom, will join the ranks of David Crane, creator of Pitfall!, plus Asteroids designer Ed Logg.
Wired also decided to present their conversation with Lebling in the form of a text adventure. Good look trying to figure it out, kids of today!
