Sundered: How To Unlock The Secret Roll Attack Skill

August 4, 2017 by Kevin Thielenhaus

There’s more to Sundered than secret Elder Shards. You can also collect a unique skill from a secret area that’s pretty easy to miss.

Having a tough time in Sundered? This hardcore  ‘metroidvania-meets-rogue-like’ action-RPG pits your weak human heroine versus hordes of Cthuloid critters, and the bosses just keep getting tougher.

As you progress through the creepy, always-changing rooms you’ll unlock special skills to traverse — but there’s one skill that’s really easy to miss. The Roll Attack is a unique ability that’s found right in the earliest area, but requires end-game skills to access.

See where to find the Roll Attack ability in the first area, and what skills you’ll need to access it. Don’t miss out on the other Sundered guides on Gameranx, including locations for all 3 secret Elder Shards.

How To Unlock The Secret Roll Attack Skill

The Roll Attack is a special unlockable skill that’s only available late-game, after unlocking some of the skills that are only available in the third location — that’s the one that’s through the right door from the hub area.

  • How to Get the Roll Attack [Secret Skill]
    • Required Skills: Hook & Wall Run
    • The Roll Attack skill is found in Area #1. Go to the room where you first acquired the Cannon Skill — scroll right until you see the lock above the miniboss room. The Roll Attack chamber is located directly to the right of that locked shortcut.
    • From the Cannon Skill room, enter the extremely large chamber to the right and reach the upper-right corner door.
    • When you enter the area, a title will appear — “The Pit: Abandoned Excavation – Endless Hordes“.

The area is gated thanks to the hook and wall-run skill requirements. When you enter the room proper, you’ll have to face infinite waves of end-game enemies. These aren’t regular, run-of-the-mill opponents either, they’re even tougher than the enemy types faced before the final boss.

When you enter this zone, just rush for the upper-right exit to get this valuable, optional special skill.
