Open-world tactics game Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 has been out since April, but players had to purchase it bundled together with the Season Pass. Developer CI Games has listened to player feedback, improved the game’s stability and performance, and finally released it as a stand-alone title.
This lowers the price-point, and gives players the option of upgrading to the Season Pass (for an additional $19.99 USD) should they want the DLC (two extra maps, new weapons, and two more singleplayer campaigns). On PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, players still need to purchase the game in a Season Pass package.
Post-release, the development team expressed regret on labelling Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 as a AAA game, saying it was “too ambitious” in scope and that their next game will focus on “exciting gameplay…without all the trappings of a large open-world setting”.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is out now via Steam for $29.99 USD (Stand-alone edition), $49.99 USD (Season Pass edition) or $61.57 USD (Franchise Complete Pack which includes the first two titles).
