Thimbleweed Park Announced for PlayStation 4, Switch Version Also Expected

July 10, 2017 by Katrina Filippidis

The pixel-perfect mystery game pops up on PlayStation.

Former LucasArts veterans Ron Gilbert, Gary Winnick and David Fox launched a kickstarter for Thimbleweed Park three years ago, hoping to bring modern audiences a “new classic point & click adventure”. On March 30 this year, that dream became a reality. Thimbleweed Park was always going to be a natural fit for PC, but like other remastered LucasArts games (Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango) it hopped onto mobile, and now, it’s headed to PlayStation 4, too.

Post-release, Gilbert and the team made additional enhancements based on player feedback, including an optional (and very unusual) in-game hint system, the ability to scroll through inventory, improved character dialogues and greetings. All of these changes are explained in further detail on the Thimbleweed Park blog.

Thimbleweed Park is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 4 on August 22. It’s currently out now via Steam, GOG, Xbox One and iOS. Gilbert mentioned that a Nintendo Switch version was also in the works earlier this month.
