Steam is Rocket League’s Least Favourite Platform

July 10, 2017 by Jordan Coetsee

It only makes sense…

Two years in Psyonix’s Rocket League has been performing absolutely brilliantly on nearly all platforms, expect one.

In an infographic released by Psyonix, the team revealed amongst other interesting statistics such as most popular battle-car, or game mode, which platform has the most active player base, and which one doesn’t. Steam comes in as the least favoured platform, featuring only a quarter of active Rocket League players. The PS4 came in first with the 41% of Rocket League players using Sony’s PS4 and nestled snuggly in the middle is Microsoft’s Xbox One, with only 32% of the Rocket League player base.

Rocket League, is just one of those titles that seem designed to play on a console with a controller than on a PC with a clunky keyboard and mouse. What would be very interesting to see is the stats of how many people use controllers on PC than keyboard and mouse. Thoughts? let us know in the comments below.

In other Rocket League news, players shouldn’t expect a second title anytime soon.

With the massive success coupled with a constant stream of content in Psyonix’s anxiety inducing football destruction derby, Rocket League, there has been a conversation in the community whether the already winning formula of Rocket Leauge really warrants a sequel and if it does, will it release anytime soon?

Rocket League is out now for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch.
