The Pokemon Go video game application has been a successful hit and as such, the title is receiving updates regularly. Recently, the title has witnessed a grand revamp to the Gym system for Pokemon Go which offers a few changes that are worth checking out in our fully detailed guide right here.
One of the changes that came to the Gym is how players are able to earn PokeCoins. In this guide, we’ll breakdown on how to earn PokeCoins and some of the challenges players may be facing.
What Are PokeCoins?
Pokemon Go is a free-to-play video game and as such, it comes to no surprise that the developers added some extra in-app purchases available simply as a means to earn some profit from the popular title. Before players are able to purchase items within the in-game shop they will be required the in-game currency known as PokeCoins.
Using PokeCoins can be used to obtain a wide assortment of items from the in-game shop to help you along your journey especially if you can’t be bothered to visit Pokestops frequently.
Available Items For Purchase
- Poke Balls
- Lucky Egg
- Incense
- Lure Module
- Egg Incubator
- Bag Upgrade
- Pokemon Storage Upgrade
- Clothing & Accessories
- Premium Raid Pass
How Do I Obtain PokeCoins?
Purchasing PokeCoins
Much like how the title states, PokeCoins can be obtained in bulk through in-app purchases though, you’ll have to spend actual currency so for some, this may not be a route worth going through especially with the bulk purchases ranging from 100 PokeCoins for $0.99 to 14,500 PokeCoins for $99.99.
Gyms
The latest Pokemon Go update has made some changes to the Gym and one of the changes includes PokeCoins and how you can earn them.
With the latest update, players are able to use Pokemon to defend the Gym owned by your team. As such, your Pokemon sent to the Gym will be able to receive One PokeCoin every ten minutes with a cap of a hundred PokeCoins per day.
Furthermore, the more Pokemon you have a Gym to defend it against opposing teams, the more PokeCoins you are earning. Although, the only means you have to obtain the PokeCoins is by having your Pokemon be defeated.
Motivation
Speaking of the new Gym update and Pokemon being placed within a Gym, it will be worth noting that Pokemon is now required to keep a positive motivation level.
Motivation meters are now featured within Pokemon Go Gyms, this level will slowly lower as Pokemon are left in the Gym and as it lowers, the Combat Power for your Pokemon will be affected. If a Pokemon is left in a Gym with a depleted Motivation meter that Pokemon will be instantly returned to its owner after its next battle loss.
With all that said, the Motivation level for these Pokemon can be raised by its team members through the use of berries.
