Xbox One X: Price, Release Date, Specifications | What We Know (So Far!)

June 12, 2017 by Dennis Patrick

Microsoft has fully unveiled the Xbox One X.

Microsoft held true to their statements in the past, their latest upcoming console is the most powerful video game console to have launched. During Microsoft’s E3 press briefing, we got a nice breakdown of what to expect from the upcoming console which is likely something 4K adopters will instantly take an interest in. Here’s everything we know about the console so far.

Gameplay

Naturally, there are plenty of questions surrounding gameplay. There’s a big influence in 4K resolution with several titles being shown off during the press briefing. Microsoft noted that the Xbox One X will not only run video games at 4K natively but it would deliver a smooth 60 frames per second.

While this may be appealing to those who own a 4K display, Microsoft didn’t forget gamers with 1080p displays. Not only will the Xbox One X run games even better for all gamers, it will even look better despite your display choice between 4K and 1080p.

1080p gamers will find that the Xbox One X will use supersampling and as a result, graphics look smoother than the past Xbox One console iterations.

Release Date/Pricing

Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox One X will launch worldwide on November 7, 2017, for $499.99 USD which is about $100 more than the competing video game console the PlayStation 4 Pro.
