Chicago Gamer Waiting In Line To Nab First Wii U For Charity

With two days left till the release of the Wii U, we're hearing more and more reports of people waiting in line, day and night, for Nintendo's new thing. Granted, it's nothing on the scale of a typical Apple product launch, but it's something nonetheless.

Most know of Isaiah-Triforce Johnson by now, mostly due to the fact that he had his name legally changed to reflect his love for all things Nintendo. But Kevin Fair is the one guy you should actually know about. Because he's waiting in line for a good cause.

As Polygon explains, the founder of I Play Games, which regularly runs video game related events in the Chicago area, is doing something special this holiday season; on Wednesday, November 21, Fair will be overseeing a video game mixer and food drive that will culminate in a raffle, with the top prize being the aforementioned console.

Fair doesn't have the Wii U as of yet, but he's expected to nab one this Sunday, since he's been waiting in line at his locale FYE diligently. Supporters have provided food, drinks, and even blankets, while employees of the store have allowed him to keep his cell phone charged.

Fair explains that he normally doesn't charge an admission for this events, but this time around, there will be a fee of five canned goods, plus another five to secure a raffle ticket. One can buy as many tickets as they'd like, provided an additional price of another ten cans each. Which is not only a killer deal, but one that will go towards starving Chicago families this Thanksgiving.
