Nintendo’s repackaged kart racer Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is finally out on Nintendo Switch, and has already climbed to the pole position of the UK sales charts, according to research group GfK. Mario and co have dethroned Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, Grand Theft Auto V and recently released indie Little Nightmares. Clocking in at 5GB, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is bringing a whole bunch of changes to the original game, including new characters, tracks, vehicles and items, but may lose the fire-hopping exploit. That hasn’t stopped Mario Kart 8 Deluxe from becoming the fastest selling Mario Kart game to date, reaching almost half a million (physical and digital) copies upon its launch in the U.S.

Although some retailers suggested Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would also be headed to Xbox One, it is definitely a Nintendo Switch exclusive.
