There’s plenty of questions left unanswered when it comes to the campaign for Star Wars: Battlefront II which is to be expected. DICE is busy away still crafting the video game for players to enjoy on console and PC platforms, however, it’s been revealed that the title campaign will have a prequel novel.
The Star Wars: Battlefront II campaign will follow a protagonist known as Iden Versio who is loyal to the Empire. Iden is tasked with finding and killing the Rebels we will soon have new details on the campaign background before the game officially hits store shelves.
This upcoming novel is titled Star Wars Battlefront II: Inferno Squad which is written by Christie Golden. In the past, Christie Golden has written novels for a wide variety of franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, StarCraft, World of Warcraft, Star Trek, along with other past Star Wars works.
According to a report made by Gamerant, the novel will introduce more information regarding the main protagonist of Iden Versio and her squad. Likewise, because the campaign from Star Wars: Battlefront II will follow the events of Return of the Jedi, it’s possible that the campaign and novel will have some details from the previously released, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
This if the course is purely speculation on our part right now as we’ll have to wait until the novel hits store shelves on July 25, 2017. As for those who wish to pick up the upcoming installment to the Star Wars: Battlefront franchise then you’ll have to wait until November 17, 2017, in which Star Wars: Battlefront II will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.
Though speaking of platforms, it was recently revealed that the PC version of Star Wars: Battlefront II will lose out on offline co-op.
