Reddit user rTwGNaywaoaLh has posted a leak for the upcoming unnamed Call of Duty title for 2017. It seems that the series will be returning to the traditional ‘boots on the ground’ gameplay as the game is allegedly going to take place during World War 2.
From the leaks, the upcoming entry seems to be titled simply as Call of Duty WWII. The leak doesn’t only show the game’s title, but it also shows several box art promotions that could become the finalized version when the game launches presumably this Autumn.
Leaker rTwGNaywaoaLh, has been around the block before as they note they were part of the official Infinite Warfare leaks from last year. rTwGNaywaoaLh states the following:
You may remember my Infinite Warfare Leak, my account /u/InfiniteWarfareLeaks was removed from Reddit by Activision after a DMCA Complaint was filed against my account. The post can still be find using the link above, however, you will not find my account, or find the post on the Infinite Warfare Reddit.
2017’s Call of Duty will be developed by SledgeHammer Games, one of the teams that are on the three-year cycle. Since the fans are seemingly fed up with the advanced, futuristic movements, it makes sense to bring the series back to a more traditional time period.
Earlier this year Activision noted that they were aware of the lower-than-expected sales from the latest entry in the Call of Duty series — Infinite Warfare, however, they have “never been more excited creatively” for their next entry.
