New Vanquish gameplay trailer shows Bullet-Time and Mech Suit

The slow-motion ‘Bullet Time’ effect called ‘Augmented Reality’ looks pretty cool, but we want to see some more quality time in that mech suit

Platinum games has released yet another gameplay trailer for its upcoming third person shooter, Vanquish. The game is being directed by famed developer Shinji Mikami, creator of the Resident Evil series. The gameplay trailer looks like its trying too hard to attract a certain western audience, but with a Japanese flavor. The slow-motion “Bullet Time” effect called “Augmented Reality” looks pretty cool, but we want to see some more quality time in that mech suit.

Check out the new Vanquish Trailer for the Xbox 360 and PS3 below:

In Vanquish, the story is set in the near future. Russia and the United States are vying for ownership of the world’s fast-depleting energy resources and the US has constructed a space station in order to harness energy from the sun. Russian forces capture this space station and divert its harvested solar energy into a blast wave that destroys San Francisco, aiming to force the US into a total and unconditional surrender. In response, the US tasks its armed forces with recapturing the space station before the Russians can annihilate their next target – New York. The player will take control of Sam, a government agent kitted out with a futuristic battlesuit.

Vanquish is set to release later this year on the 360 and PS3.
