Two industry veterans with years of work from Sony have now started up their own indie game studio known as Hero Machine Studios. Today, we’re finding out about their first video game title, Kinetik, a tactical RPG shooter set in the near future.
Hero Machine Studios is comprised of Mat Broome and Kevin McPherson, both are AAA developer veterans who have worked on such IPs as EverQuest, H1Z1, Planetside 2, and DC Universe Online. Now the two have a new project that they are hoping will gain the attention of gamers.
According to the press release that was sent over, Kinetik will include an in-depth RPG leveling system with brutal cover-based shooter gameplay. There’s plenty of options that are given to players during gameplay that will range from gadgets, player controlled drones, moddable companions, and of course, tactical weapons.
Multiplayer will also be gracing the video game with battles online that will feature 16 vs 16 competitive matches. Although, in order to see this project released into the hands of gamers, it would first have to be funded through the Kickstarter campaign.
The Kickstarter campaign is asking for a pledged goal of $150,000 and there’s still a month left of the campaign to see that pledged goal funded.
At the time of writing this, there is a limited amount of spots available for the pledged $20 tier, known as Lance Corporal (Early Bird). Within this tier, gamers who donate $20 towards the development of this game will receive a digital copy, Steam early access, digital wallpapers, in-game backer medal, forum backer tag, along with their name within the in-game credits.
