PBS Delves Into Importance of Indie Games

October 5, 2012 by Patricia Hernandez

The future is indie, I tells ya.

In the last few months, between Idea Channel and Off Book, PBS has done a fantastic job of delving into gaming subjects–from the esoteric critical theory in games, to fun videos that delve into the Homestuck phenomenon.

Their latest videos look at the phenomenon that is indie games, and particularly taps into what makes them uniquely creative. Indie games have certain strengths that they tend to play to. And you can watch some well known game critics talk about this all too!

For some of you that are well-plugged into the indie scene, some of this might not be new. Still, it's worth watching, I think, if only to see how non-gaming outlets talk about important subjects in gaming.
