TGS: Kojima Productions Partners with GREE for Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops

September 20, 2012 by Kris Ligman

Proves that stealth mechanics, card games, hex grids are a threeway made in Outer Heaven.

Hey, it’s been a good couple of months for Kojima Productions. Back with the unveiling of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes back in August, Tokyo Game Show has brought us new trailers and deets on two more Metal Gear games in Kojima Productions’ portfolio. We’ve already shown off the new MGR: Revengeance trailer from today, so have a look at the franchise’s next mobile outing, dubbed Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops.

As the name implies, this is a mission-oriented kind of side-game on the order of Portable Ops, that PSP title that Kojima has more or less officially disowned. So, don’t expect this game to add much to the series’ already convoluted mythology. It seems much more intent on the sneaking and the running jokes. Golden cardboard boxes? Ahh, Big Boss, you look so happy. ♥

Thanks, IGN.
