The recent Pokémon Go update included 80 new Pokémon from the prodigious Pokémon Gold/Silver, which is still arguably one of the best installments in the franchise.
This massive update has caused a surge in popularity for the mobile game once again topping the iOS and Android charts, and becoming the highest grossing game in the US.
Well played Niantic.
Niantic has reported various other updates that fans can expect to see over due course, such as trading and PvP battles. But they’ll probably keep that in their pocket until popularity once again begins to fade.
Whether or not Niantic will be able to sustain this level of interest remains to be seen. But in the meantime…
