Guerrilla Games’ upcoming title, Horizon Zero Dawn, has made its way on almost every anticipated games list written recently, and it completely deserves it.
Sony Interactive Entertainment UK product manager Jon Edwards was recently featured in an interview with MCV, where he discussed the game’s potential and its importance to Sony as a first-party title. He continued to describe Horizon Zero Dawn as “an exciting addition to the array of PlayStation exclusives already available” and “a key title for PlayStation.”
Edwards also revealed that the pre-orders so far has been within the studio’s expectations, which is definitely a positive sign when approaching the game’s release date.
We’re really optimistic about how this title’s likely to perform. It’s got a great studio behind it and what we’ve revealed so far has been really well received. It was also on many ‘Most Anticipated Games of 2017’ lists which added to our confidence.
When asked whether Sony will turn Horizon Zero Dawn into a massive franchise, he replied with the following statement:
“Nothing has been announced to date but I think there’s a lot of potential for this to be an exciting new franchise for us – we’ll just have to wait and see.”
Horizon Zero Dawn releases on February 28 in North America and March 1 in Europe exclusively for PlayStation 4.
