Titanfall 2 DLC Outlined; Classic Map set to Return

January 28, 2017 by Jordan Biazzo

Ready to run and gun on Colony?

Respawn Entertainment has given a few more details on the upcoming DLC content that has been planned for 2017 over on their official blog post.

Firstly, Respawn wanted to explain their new game mode — Live Fire which is a fast-paced 6v6 pilot only elimination mode. The mode seems to be very fast pace as each round only gives players 60 seconds to eliminate the enemy team or take control of the neutral flag. Check out the full details down below:

Could you break down how the mode works?
Live Fire is a fast-paced round-based 6v6 pilot only elimination mode. Each round gives players only 60 seconds to eliminate the enemy team or take control of the neutral flag. The team that holds the neutral flag when the timer runs out wins the round regardless of how many players they’ve lost. Knowing how and when to pick up the flag is a core aspect of the mode’s meta.

Where did the idea for the Live Fire Mode come from?
Live Fire was inspired by speedball matches in paintball. We wanted to capture the spirit of these lightning-fast competitive matches and give it a Titanfall twist. Live Fire, like speedball, is fundamentally about forwarding momentum. You have to advance against the enemy, attack aggressively without hesitation, and make split second decisions that can make or break your team’s victory.

Respawn then went on to announced that another fan favorite from the original title — Colony, will be making its way to the game this March. We got a screenshot of how the map is turning out which you can check out below:

Here’s what designer Griffin Dean had to say about the upcoming map Colony:

I’m personally thrilled to see this one making a comeback and it’s starting to look great with a new coat of paint. That’s all I can say for now but expect all this and more down the road. This is just a tease of all the stuff we’re working on.

The new Live Fire multiplayer mode is set to release in February for all platforms for free. Respawn has noted that they will be in two weeks to update fans on more exciting news regarding Titanfall 2.
