Ever since The Game Awards, fans of the Telltale series have been itching for more details on the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy series. Excitedly, retailer GameStop managed to give fans little details on the game, including an official plot synopsis.
The Guardians of the Galaxy five-part series will center around the rag-tag band of heroes from the hit Marvel movie — Starlord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket, and Groot. Players will assume the role of the leader, Starlord as they set off to search for a relic that has unspeakable power. Check out the synopsis down below:
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series delivers a brand new story of the universe’s unlikeliest heroes, the rag-tag band of outlaws who go by the names Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of the Guardians has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.
From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, this five-part episodic series puts you in the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, told in the unique and award-winning Telltale style, where your decisions and actions will drive the path of the story you experience.
Alongside the synopsis, GameStop also managed to give a release date for the game, however, they quickly pulled it down. The leaked date was set for April 25; being that this date lands on a Tuesday, it could very well be the release date of the game.
In addition, Telltale would most likely want to sync up the release of the new series and the upcoming Guardians movie sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which is set to release on May 5. An April 25 release date sounds about right, but they have yet to officially comment on the subject.
Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy series will be available for all platforms.
