Minecraft is Getting Cobblestone Walls, Love Mugs, and Other Decorative Items

August 16, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

The next version of Minecraft will see the addition of a host of decorations.

Jens "Jeb" Bergensten, the current lead developer of Minecraft at Mojang has confirmed the inclusion of Cobblestone Walls in the upcoming version of the game.

Cobblestone Walls, suggested by Minecraft fan CMDBob, will serve as decorations in the game. They'll be added in addition to love mugs proposed by another fan.

"In addition to @Dinnerbone's love mugs, we've added another old decoration suggestion," wrote Bergensten on his Twitter account.

Essentially, Cobblestone Walls are the cobblestone equivalent of fences, which are currently only available in wood. These old dry stone walls are intended to be like the ones you'd find in the English and French countryside. They could even be used as crenellations on castle towers and walls.

These decorations, among many others, will be added in the game's upcoming 1.4 patch, which is set for release shortly. It'd be nice if they added fireflies, fish, and other ambient wildlife next.
