Legend of Zelda was Designed on Actual Paper – Here’s the Original work

December 22, 2016 by Jordan Coetsee

Take a more in-depth trip down memory lane

Nintendo Uk has released a bunch of images detailing the first original level design of Legend of Zelda. Prep the Nostalgia feels!

Personally, I think it’s awesome seeing stuff like this especially since gaming has only recently been credited as a form of artwork in mainstream media (remember when people used to think of gamers as children or nerds in their mother’s basement).

Looking at these early designs one could compare level design to architecture, it reminds people that even though early game creation pales in comparison to the process in creating modern video games, production has always been a technical process combining art and logic.
